Malinda Zenor is well known by concert bands and brass quintets all over the United States as a composer of original music. All levels of performers enjoy her creations, as they tend to be both technically challenging and very playable. When audiences are first introduced to her works, there is an immediate connection.

Malinda’s early musical education is evident in every piece she writes. Her father, Howard (Windy) Lynn, was a professional Vaudeville trombonist. She spent untold hours accompanying her father and other skilled performing artists of the day on the piano. She was raised during the height of the swing era, which has a major influence in her musical creation style. As a performing musician, she plays the Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn and Piano, to name a few. This familiarity with the instrument translates well into the skilled writing of parts for the musical artist performing her works.
